Why do some names appear in different colors in a Facebook group I admin?

As a group admin, you may see the names of people who have posted in your group appear in different shades to help you identify their status.
If the name is:
  • Grey: They are no longer a member of the group, but their content in the group is still visible.
  • Black: Their account has been deactivated, is pending account verification or the member may have blocked you.
As an admin, you can also see a complete list of grey or black member names in the unavailable member section of your group.
To view a list of unavailable names in your group:
  1. From your News Feed click Groups in the left menu.
  2. Select your group from Groups You Manage in the left menu.
  3. Click Members on the left side.
  4. Click Unavailable on the right side.
Admins can remove or block group members with unavailable names.
Note: All group member names will appear in black on mobile devices.
